Shoe recycling

I had no idea you could do this until I read about it here. So cool--Nike started a program called "Reuse-a-shoe". Used athletic shoes (any brand) can be mailed or dropped off at a number of sites around the country (and even around the world)--the shoes are then recycled into athletic surfaces and fields for kids. What a creative way to recycle!

This doesn't have anything to do with your shoe post...

Just got your comment on my "Stormy Skies" photo. Girl, did you not get my email? I sent it the minute I received your address. Here all this time, waiting for your reply, I've been thinking my enthusiasm killed you dead away! =)

I also realized that I went on about Lar folks, thinking your *husband* had gone. Then it dawned on me that your husband works at __ Collge and your *BIL* was the one who went to Lar. Sorry.

Anyway, just wondered if my email is lost in your junk filter, or that it went to the wrong address?

Wow -- this is great info! I have thrown away lots of athletic shoes over the years -- I would much rather extend their useful life in a beneficial way!

Thanks for sharing!
