Our first harvest

After being gone on vacation, it was fun to come home to produce ready to be picked from our garden. To the tune of "The 12 Days of Christmas," here is what we harvested the other day:

3 tomatoes, 2 onions, 1 green pepper and a bunch of green beans

Wow -- that's great! We have had a couple of small onions and several cuttings of lettuce, but it will be awhile before we have green beans, tomatoes or green peppers. Enjoy!

Love, Mom

Carrie -

This looks great! Our garden is a hideous mess of weeds after being gone so long. I seriously think it needs to be all chopped down, our growing season is really pretty much done anyway, though we are still getting tomatoes.

Yum! I think veggies taste better when you have had a hand in growing them. Enjoy!

It does seems as though we do many things at the exact same time. Thanks to your help and encouragement to grow our own garden, we enjoyed some amazing green beans for dinner last night and used our fresh basil as well from the garden. It was so rewarding to eat what we grew. Everything else is going strong! Good job and thanks for the inspiration!
