It's back!

I had never seen Survivor before joining the staff of our college, but it's a tradition that our department watches it together every week of every season. We are hooked.

Tonight is the premiere of Survivor: China and I am so excited. Each person in our group selects one of the contestants to be our "person" for the season, and we receive points (or deductions) based on our individual's performance in the tribal challenges. We also complete a brief weekly survey before each show where we make predictions about who will be voted out, etc. At the end of the show, whoever has the most points wins a free dinner. Another free meal goes to the person whose Survivor wins the entire competition. It's such a fun team activity--we'll be on the edges of our seats this evening!

Do you watch Survivor? Any show that you're excited to follow this season?

Alas, no we won't be watching this season...although when we were in the States we watched every season! I'm curious as to where in China they are that would be survival conditions?
The first Survivor was done on the island we now live on!! :)

I think Survivor is only fun to watch when I'm at your house! Well, that, and the fact that we only get PBS! :) Wish I could come over and join in the fun!!

I have never watched, but I will this year. They are in the same province where Megan was born. We were out last night, but we taped it. I can't wait to get a peek at places I might have been!

We don't have a TV set up to watch Survivor (or any other show, for that matter), but I have been hearing about it on our local Christian radio station (New Life 91.9 in Charlotte, NC) because Leslie Nease, one of the contestants, was a radio show host there. I never liked her on the radio (personality clash) but it's still neat to have that connection. Her daughter is writing a blog about witnessing her mom's experience as it unfolds on the Survivor:

It's great to have a Christian witness on Survivor - I saw a YouTube clip of Leslie walking out of the Buddhist temple because she wouldn't worship other gods. :)

I watched it once with my nieces and thought it was interesting, but I never really got into it.
There are a lot of shows that I'm waiting to start their new seasons! Not the least of which is Project Runway!

I despise reality TV, so no, I don't watch it. But your method of watching it actually sounds fun. We used to have LOST-watching parties with our friends each week, and that was always a blast. It's so much nicer to enjoy a good show with a crowd.
