My sister, my friend

When I heard not long ago that there was a holiday called Sisters' Day, I made a note to write a special post on that date. I recently realized the official day slipped past me, but interestingly, according to Hallmark, Sisters' Day fell on the same date as Friendship Day. A coincidence? I think not. My sister, Monica, is one my closest friends, and I know you think she's great, too. Monica is crafty, generous, wise, creative, caring, and amazingly motivated. I love you, my sister, my friend!

I'm also grateful to have two wonderful sisters-in-law. Kristin has been a trusted source of parenting wisdom and encouragement, and I admire her discipline and her thriftiness. Kendra is a wonderful hostess, fun to hang out with, and amazing with kids of all ages.

Anyone else want to give a shout out to a sister in your life?

What a precious post! I am so thankful that you and Monica are friends as well as sisters! :)

I love my two sisters and count them among my dearest friends, too. Since I am in Colorado and they live in Kansas and Florida, we don't get to see each other very often. I am proud of their accomplishments and admire who they are as women. I love you, Joanie and Mary!

With love from Mom

Thanks Carrie! We've had a lot of fun times together. I wished we lived closer, but email, blogs, and cell phones are wonderful things! You continue to amaze me with each blog you write. I've learned a lot from you already, some of which is being stored somewhere in the depths of my brain for when we have kids. I admire your craftiness, creativity, resourcefulness, and sincere care for those around you and the world in which you live. Thanks for being willing to share your journey through life for all to see! :)

As for Kristin, she is a woman full of integrity, wisdom, amazing parenting skills, fun, and Godly advice, which is backed by her actions. She is everything a sister could be to me, except that she's not my neighbor. :)

I love you both! What would we do without sisters!

Thank you from me, too, Carrie! We couldn't have asked for a better sister-in-law either! It is a joy to have you as part of our family. You are a wonderful, godly woman who is so creative, very organized, and wonderfully kind-hearted. I have learned much about you and from you from your blogs also, and my respect for you continues to grow! You are a very wise and talented woman! How fun it is to be raising children together now too...just wish it were in the same neighborhood!

As for my sister, Kendra, she is one of my dearest friends also! As is the trend, I'm sad that we aren't neighbors! She is a beautiful example of one who has been and is always there for me no matter what the circumstance--a truly faithful friend for all seasons of life! She is so selfless, and cares deeply for the needs of others. She loves her husband, and is devoted to supporting him in whatever he does. She offers great advice and is wonderfully creative! We've shared so much together over the years, and I just love the bond of friendship that is between us!

I love both of my sisters...now how long before we're all together again at Christmas?!!

I could not resist cmmenting on this one. I was not blessed with a blood sister, but priase God, I have many wonderful sisters-in-Christ, whom I don't know what would do without.
Also, I feel extremely BLESSED to be the mother of "3 sisters" and grandmother of "2 sisters" who are all so special and very precious to me.(Oh yes, and great- grandmother of "2 sisters" as well!) I admire each one of you (adults) for the women you have become and I treasure every word I hear from you, whether it is by blog, e-mail phone call or whatever. I LOVE keeping up with all your "Goings-on"! I'm so thankful you are all FRIENDS as well.

I love you, Grandma
