By the river

Well, this is a first for me. I'm blogging from a coffeeshop in a beautiful town near the lake where we've spent the week on vacation. My in-laws offered to take Nathan along to a function they were invited to, and Eric and my brother-in-law wanted to go fly fishing. That left me with . . . a free evening! I rode along with the guys, and they dropped me off at a coffeeshop that overlooks the river where they're fishing. I'm borrowing my brother-in-law's Mac--I've never used one before, but it's going fine so far.

I have a strawberry pineapple Italian soda, and a couple hours ahead of me--I'm excited to *start* getting caught up on blogs and e-mail. (UPDATE: an hour in, live music appeared on the scene--wahoo!)

(We're having a great time and I'll post pix next week.)

Wow, sounds like a lot of fun Carrie. My hubby got home tonight from a military assignment and gave me a couple of hours to myself as well! I went and had a Wild Berry smoothie, read my Bible, and had a mini-retreat, I guess you could call it. :-) I thought of your retreats! Thanks for posting ~ have a wonderful evening!

Oh how I do love my evenings alone at the coffee shop! I'm a chai girl myself, but it's wonderful to have time to yourself out. Relax and Enjoy!

Glad to see that you guys are having a great time! Just to let you know, once you go Mac you never go back :) When I left iowa I had never touched a Mac and was discouraged when I got to Oregon and saw that my work computer was a Mac. Next thing I know I am LOVING it and even bought a Mac laptop...for someone who computer woes makes me go crazy Mac's have been the answers to all my prayers :)

Enjoy the rest of your vacation! Cannot wait to see pics! Hope E caught lots of fish today :)

Oh how fun! I LOVE coffee shops, and I miss the one I used to go to in OC. Is that still there? I wish there was a coffee shop around here, I would be there whenever I had a moment to spare!
Enjoy the rest of your vacation....sounds like you are having fun!

Glad you enjoyed that night. I sure enjoyed spending the time with Eric and a few trout myself. I really appreciate the way you give Eric his time to do things like fishing. He and I had some great times on the water this week so thanks for making the sacrifice! Hope you had a safe trip!
