Fall fun

I feel the need to post some pix that remind me the current season is AUTUMN since it's snowing as I write this!

*We're fortunate to have a fabulous pumpkin patch and petting zoo just a few miles away. This was taken a few weeks ago when it was actually warm outside. =)
*A friend invited us to join her family for making cider with an old-fashioned apple press. Yum!
*I love fall-ish recipes. This snack mix recommended by Mer is delicious. Also, I was glad to come across these instructions for freezing diced apples for later use in muffins, etc. since we were given a box of apples and I've already made a couple batches applesauce and pie filling.
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

We haven't gotten to do any fall activities yet because it got so darn cold here. I love these pictures!!

I am now off to check out those links. Thanks, Carrie!!

Snow... yikes! We aren't having snow, but we are having some cool temps. Yesterday we made it to 60* and I hear we won't be close to that for a while. I am hearing a high of 48* later this week. I am not ready for winter!!

I saw that idea for freezing apples. Clever!

We've had winter weather here, too -- brrr! Only one of the pumpkins in our garden has survived the freeze since we weren't here to cover them up at night. :( Love the photos! Love, Mom

Thanks for the pictures! I wish I could take N to the pumpkin patch with you :) He is turning into quite the little man.

Enjoy as much fall as you can!

I can't believe you have snow! Please keep it there. Our photo shoot last Saturday was outside at 8am...37 degrees! Ouch!

Fun fall activities, it looks like! Apple cider is sounding mighty good. I may have to pick some up soon.

Couple of inches of snow greeted us yesterday...currently 32 degrees, and I hear there is more snow in the forecast for the next few days....crazy! Happy belated birthday to your hubby....my hubby's bday was Saturday. :-)
Cute pix! We want to go to an apple orchard soon, but it's been so chilly!

Cute pictures, Carrie:

Wow!! SNOW!!! I hope it stops before Mary and I come up there.
(We are still planning to come over her birthday.)
It is cold here, but at least no snow. It's been in the 30's and 40's for about the last week. It is supposed to warm up again next week.
Love you, Grandma

You're missing autumn because it's already winter there, and I'm missing autumn because I won't get one this year. (Sad day.) You asked about weather. Our 3 day forcast says
Wednesday: Partly Cloudy, 89
Thursday: Sunny, 91
Friday: Sunny, 93
They say Israel has 2 seasons: summer and winter. Winter hits in November and will be in the 40s with rain until late February. Then we're back to summer.

I'm going to attempt to remember these ideas for next fall. I've had candy corn and peanuts before but no Reeces Pieces. Bonus!

Last fall we made several apple crisps and Brandon dehydrated lots of apples in the dorm. I've never tried freezing them, but it looks like a wonderful idea.

And where did the H's get all their apples? It looks like a whole truckload! Fun!

It's been chilly and rainy practically every day, which is unusual. But of course on the day we chose to go to the State Fair of Texas, it became hot with a beating sun. I'm sunburned. Now it's back to being a little chilly. Go figure.
