4 years of blogging (and a giveaway!)

658 posts in the past 4 years. Wow! (As I looked at the numbers, I couldn't help but notice that the number of posts I write was cut in half when we doubled the number of kids in our family! Ha!)

I thought it would be fun a few months ago to put the topics I write about into a word cloud, and I was thrilled to see that the subjects I write about most still reflect what is most important to me: The top 3 words are family, faith, and homemaking!

Thanks for joining me on this journey. As a way to say thank you, I'd like to give away a Leslie Sansone DVD. I've mentioned how much I've enjoyed her workouts--my February challenge seriously got me back on track with exercising, and I'm so glad! If your name is chosen in the random drawing, you will receive a gently used copy of Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection.

To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment on this post, telling me what topic or type of post you most enjoy reading on this blog. (Not to elevate me or my writing in any way, but rather to help me tune in to who's reading and what is interesting to you.) Thanks! I'll choose a name sometime Thursday, and will announce the winner on Friday.

Oh Carrie...you're making me choose one topic?? I've truly enjoyed probably close to 600 posts since I first clicked over here! =) Hmmmm..I really enjoy your stewardship posts, and I love how you tie stewardship in with most all the other topics! I love your made-from-scratch recipes and your book reviews ~ you always select such good ones! And, of course, I truly enjoy the family updates! Oh, and the fun quizzes you post from time to time are neat ~ btw, I don't know if you ever mentioned your decorating style yet?? =) Happy Blogiversary!

I like items concerning grandchildren, exercise and saving
money (they don't call it "home
economics" for nothing).

Good job!

Love, Dad

Happy 4 years of blogging! My favorites are family updates and photos, of course -- but I am also interested in anything you share about all kinds of topics (stewardship, green living, book reviews, recipes). And thanks to your tip on Leslie Sansone walking workouts, I've been more faithful to exercise! Love you lots, Mom

I enjoy your book reviews and reading about your individual and couple challenges you undertake. I would like to hear more about the work you do for your local college.
Congratulations on 4 years of blogging!

Thanks for your comment. I have done a variety of jobs for the college. I worked there for 5 years, most recently in public relations until Nathan was born. I still do some work on the alumni magazine, compiling alumni news for the quarterly publication. That office has also called me on two different occasions in the last few years to work temporarily in the office during times of transition.

In addition, two other departments have called to ask me to fill in for various projects. I've kind of become the go-to girl! =) I've helped coordinate three different events for the alumni office, and this past year, I was asked to plan the choir and band spring break tours. Unlike my previous tasks, that work was all done from home. I liked the flexibility of it, but it took me a long time to find a rhythm of fitting that work in.

If you have other questions, please let me know. Thanks for your interest!

No need to enter me in the giveaway but I DID want to say HAPPY BLOGGING ANNIVERSARY!!! =D (And I'm laughing/smiling at the amount of posts decreasing post-children. I'm seriously wondering how our own life change is going to effect things, ultimately.)

I really just like reading about whatever strikes your fancy and about the things that you feel passionate about. Passionately written posts are ALWAYS fascinating and thought-provoking. Of course, I also like your personal posts about your family and seeing how your kids are growing up (and the parties and activities that you do with/for them.)

I'll keep reading if you'll keep writing!

How you show hospitality, very challenging to share not just with friends but the whole neighborhood! We've been doing a Leslie Sansone walking DVD too so it would be nice to have a different one to use! :)

Love the cute number 4 candle! :) I, too, have been thrilled to learn about Leslie Sansone! Great idea for a giveaway!

I think that make your own recipes have been my favorite - plus family pix!

I've come back here again and again to make the yellow cake from scratch recipe!

Love you,

I remember when Monica told me you were starting a blog. Has it really been that long? I know I don't comment frequently but I do stop by frequently. I love when you share about your family and how God is helping you mother your children. A lot of your posts fall in this category even if your post was intended to be something different. And I just love stopping here because you belong to Monica, and I love Monica, so I love you, too!

Happy blogging!!! Hope the next four years are just as encouraging and fun!

Hi Carrie,

You don't need to enter me in the contest, either, but I did want to say "Happy Blogiversary" I can't believe it's been that long, either!
I love your posts about family,of course, but also enjoy hearing about whatever is on your mind.
You do put me to shame with your discipline challenges, however.

Love you, Grandma

Your "challenge" posts are my favorites - they usually resonate with me as well. I also appreciated your review of Raising your spirited child.
