Vacation, part 2: Grandpa

I'm sure many of you will remember that Eric's grandma passed away in January. Well, 3 weeks ago, the day we left for Michigan, Eric's grandfather also went to be with Jesus. We rejoice that he is in heaven, but of course it is sad to say goodbye to him here on earth.

Here is a picture that Eric and his siblings took with Grandpa when we were together in January:And here's a shot from when Nathan met his Great-Grandpa:
The funeral was a wonderful testament to Grandpa's faith, generosity and many professional accomplishments. Once again, Eric's cousin put together a beautiful photo slideshow set to Steve Green's song, "Find Us Faithful," and I don't think there was a dry eye. We are grateful for a heritage of faith!

I will always remember and appreciate their generosity to us in sharing their home when we came to visit/meet Eric's family. Condolences to the whole family. Love, Mom

Sounds like a wonderful heritage.

Also, that picture of Nathan makes me miss him a lot since that is the same little squirt I used to spend some fun afternoons with! :)

I'm so sorry for your loss. It really is a beautiful thing, though, when you can rejoice that someone is in heaven now.

Beautiful tribute, Carrie. Again, I'm so sorry.

Seeing that picture of him and Nathan reminds me of Proverbs 17:6! Rejoicing in his faith and new home with Jesus!

For a very, very long time, I had concluded that my grandparents were immortal, and would live forever. These days, I can see time taking a tole on them....they don't get around like they used to, and have had several medical problems in their older years. I'm blessed to still have them here with me, but am sad to see them deteriorating so. :( Thinking of you!
