Vacation, part 6: the 4th of July

Whew, I had to put together one final vacation post to highlight the 4th of July. The weather was perfect this year, and we had a wonderful day.

We started the day with these flag waffles, inspired be a feature on MSM. Cute!
In addition to all of the usual lake activities, one of the families on the lake was selling elephant ears and sno cones as a fundraiser for a ministry in Africa. It was hard to turn down such yummy treats, especially for such a good cause! The kids also enjoyed an ice cream cone:Later in the day, we took part in the annual boat parade, and of course we watched fireworks. It was a wonderful day to celebrate freedom, faith and family!
