It's a bird, it's a plane

I've mentioned before that our small town has an annual festival, and on several occasions, we've attended the pancake breakfast held at our tiny airport. It's a fun time of packing into the hangar for pancakes, sausage and juice, and then heading outside to watch the planes coming in and out.
We'd heard in years past that you could sign up to take a plane ride, but we were unclear of the cost. Eric decided to inquire, and we felt that it was a reasonable fee. (This is an example of a non-frugal outing--we aren't misers--as I've said before, we enjoy saving when we can so we can spend/give as we choose.) So it was a spontaneous excursion: Eric, Nathan and Natalie got to have a 20-minute plane ride, flying over our town and the surrounding area. Eric took the video camera with him, so it will be fun to see their footage, though he said it was a pretty bumpy ride. The kids did great--neither got sick and they said they weren't scared. Naomi and I had fun watching from just off the runway (!) and taking a few photos on land.

What a unique adventure!

Looks like so much fun for Nathan, Natalie and Daddy! So thankful no one got sick (esp. Nathan with his motion sickness tendencies.) Glad you had a good day! Love, Grandma/Nana
